Biography: Eric Shmookler, M.D. has practiced ophthalmology since 1986. Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, Dr. Shmookler ’s primary emphasis is on the diagnosis and treatment of retinal conditions.

Avidly involved in research for more than a decade, Dr. Eric Shmookler has participated in numerous medical investigations. Dr. Shmookler's scientific writings have appeared in professional medical publications including American Journal of Ophthalmology and Archives of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Eric Shmookler graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Maryland. Dr. Shmookler received his medical degree and completed a fellowship program as a research associate at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Dedicated to research, Dr. Shmookler completed a post-residency fellowship program as a clinical and research fellow at the Wilmer Institute at Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions.

Dr. Shmookler currently serves as clinical assistant professor of ophthalmology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and as instructor in ophthalmology at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.
